§ 34-53. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Central business district is hereby defined as the geographic area within the town, with its boundaries being: on the east, the town corporate limits sign on Highway 84; on the west, the town corporate limits sign on Highway 84; extending to the north to a point one block north of the parish courthouse; and extending to the south to the corporate limits of the town on Highway 127.

    Sidewalk means any concrete or asphalt surface not otherwise meeting the definition of a street on which people walk or otherwise ambulate.

    Skateboard means a narrow board approximately two feet in length mounted on roller skate wheels or other wheels similar thereto.

    Skateboarders means those in any fashion using a skateboard for recreational, entertainment, or business purposes.

    Streets means any paved thoroughfares used by any vehicle of any nature, type or description within the city limits of the town.
