§ 32-46. Garbage receptacle requirements.

  • The minimum standards and requirements for garbage collection receptacles are as follows:

    (1)

    Flyproof metal or plastic containers of not less than five-gallon or more than 30- gallon capacity shall be used for the disposal of garbage and be provided by all individuals, retail or wholesale businesses, hospitals, schools, laundries, laundromats, motels, hotels, courthouses, restaurants, cafeterias, multiple unit office buildings and all others who use the garbage collection facilities of the town.

    (2)

    At least one such container shall be provided by each individual, retail or wholesale business, hospital, school, laundry, laundromat, motel, hotel, courthouse, restaurant, cafeteria, multiple-use office building and all others who use the garbage collection facilities of the town.

    (3)

    All containers employed as garbage collection receptacles shall be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition to prevent them from becoming foul smelling or breeding places for flies, mosquitoes and other insects.
